This dataset represents major lakes and various inland water area features in Ghana.The primary source for the database is the Digital Chart of the world (DCW) created by ESRI from US Operational Navigation Chart (ONC) series. The base map is the most comprehensive outline of Africa with a scale of 1:1,000,000 . This is the largest scale unclassified map series in existence that provides consistent, continuous global coverage of essential basemap features. The database contains more than 1,900 megabytes of vector data and is organized into 10 thematic layers.it was compiled by ESRI,Readland,USA between 1965 and 1974.The DCW (original source) covers the whole world. This theme was clipped from DCW by PADCO and exported into ARC/INFO export format.
